Esme James is Founder and Director of Gospel Truth Ministries, based in Freetown. She is teacher by profession. Through writing, teaching, training and preaching, the goal of the Ministries is to help Christians grow spiritually by practicing their faith daily whilst forging a close and meaningful relationship with Jesus Christ.
For the past twenty years Esme has been producing and co-presenting a weekly radio programme with Yvonne Gibril, From Faith to Faith, on Believers’ Broadcasting Network (BBN), a local Christian radio station, in Sierra Leone. The broadcasts are done entirely in Krio. She also broadcasts some of her teachings on YouTube, and is one of the contributors to the Africa Study Bible (Oasis International; published 2016).
She has written several biblical tracts, newspaper articles, social media posts and published two books: Jesus Still Heals and Exam Success. Together with her son, Brian James, she also wrote Called To Serve, the Biography of the Reverend Canon Dr. Modupe Taylor-Pearce, one of Sierra Leone’s leading Christian personalities.
Esme James is also a Conference Speaker, an Editor and Editorial Consultant, and a Lay Reader in the Anglican Church of Sierra Leone.
Her passion now is to help Sierra Leoneans learn to read and write in Krio so that many people will be able to write books, plays and poems and even produce newspapers and magazines in Krio.
